WHITE HOUSE
This 1960s house had a featureless large living space. With huge floor to ceiling windows, there was plenty of light, but this was lost on dull carpet and a dark brick feature wall and gas heater. The space needed a focal point and a sense of depth which was achieved by adding an internal chimney breast, with fireplace. This allowed space for floating shelves and built-in joinery, creating visual interest and much needed storage.
